Duchenne Dash 2018
8th – 11th June 2018
On the 8th June 2018, along with 200 cyclists from around the UK, 11 intrepid parents from Hildenborough and Tonbridge will take part in a gruelling cycle ride, called the Duchenne Dash. We will be riding from London to Paris; attempting to cycle the 300Km distance in just 24hours.
We are raising money for Chasing Connor’s Cure, a local charity setup when our six-year-old son, Connor Crawford, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This condition affects 1 in 3,500 boys and currently has no cure. It is a muscle wasting disease that takes their ability to walk, confining them to a wheelchair from their mid-teens, tragically leading to prematurely taking life when it reaches the heart and lungs.
All the riders pay their own entrance fee and each are tasked to raise a minimum of £4,000. This is a monumental target inspired by the need to fund medical research and clinical trials. We are convinced a cure is within sight and a significant change will be made in the next 5 years. But we need your help to achieve this.
EVERY penny will go towards making a positive difference to Connor and boys like him. Please help us and follow on Facebook for news on how your money is spent and making a difference.
